Seafood, Historic
Sturehof, Stockholm’s first seafood restaurant, has a history spanning more than a century. With roots in both French and Swedish cuisine, the menu is centred around fish and seafood, follows the seasons and preserves the traditions of Swedish husmanskost, or traditional home-style fare.
Many of the dishes served today can be traced back to the restaurant’s early days, including bouillabaisse, sotare (grilled Baltic herring), assiettes assorties (charcuterie), strömming (small fried Baltic herring), turbot with browned butter and a daily selection of traditional Swedish dishes. A particularly memorable choice is the magnificent platter of fried Baltic herring, served with browned butter and creamy potato purée.
