Bu Qtair is a legendary, no-frills seafood restaurant tucked away in Dubai’s Fishing Harbour, Jumeirah. Established in the 1980s, it began as a humble makeshift cabin serving tea, bread, and freshly caught fish to local fishermen. Founded by an Emirati fisherman and an Indian chef, the eatery gradually developed a devoted following among locals before attracting visitors from around the world. Its reputation grew further after celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain featured Bu Qtair on CNN’s Parts Unknown, praising its straightforward cooking and quality seafood. Today, its unpretentious setting and fresh, flavourful dishes remain central to its enduring appeal.
