Port Sa’id is chef Eyal Shani’s lively bar-restaurant on Har Sinai Street, beside the Great Synagogue in central Tel Aviv. Spilling onto an inviting outdoor terrace, the space is anchored by an extensive vinyl collection played through an analogue sound system, while its no-reservations policy adds to the spontaneous, buzzy atmosphere. The menu changes daily, celebrating ingredients sourced from small local producers and served as generous sharing plates. Highlights include charred cauliflower, beef tartare and minute steak with Jericho beans, alongside grilled eggplant, roasted root vegetables seasoned with Levantine spices and skewered meats, often accompanied by generous spoonfuls of tahini. Bold, seasonal and produce-driven, Port Sa’id captures Tel Aviv’s irreverent culinary spirit.
