El Rincón Que No Conoces is a landmark of traditional Peruvian Creole cuisine, founded by the legendary Teresa Izquierdo, often hailed as the “Mother of Peruvian Cuisine.” Established on April 26, 1978, as a modest space with just a handful of tables on Avenida Petit Thouars, it began by serving classic homemade desserts before evolving into a full-fledged culinary destination.
Following Teresa’s passing in 2011, her daughter Elena Santos Izquierdo continued her legacy, preserving the soulful, deeply rooted flavors passed down through generations. The menu, shaped by tradition and customer demand, features a rotating selection of dishes prepared on specific days, showcasing authentic Creole seasoning. Warm hospitality remains at its heart, with every guest welcomed as if into a family home, reflecting the spirit and generosity that define this iconic institution.
