Lan Jia Gua Bao is widely regarded as the gold standard for gua bao in Taipei. For any food — especially pork — lover, joining the ever-present queues is practically a rite of passage.
Gua bao, often dubbed the “Taiwanese hamburger,” features tender braised pork belly tucked into a fluffy steamed bun, layered with pickled mustard greens, fresh coriander and a dusting of ground peanuts. The result is a perfect balance of sweet, savoury, soft and crunchy in every bite.
