Ice Monster is one of Taipei’s most famous shaved ice destinations, renowned for its dreamy mango creation. A Taiwanese kakigori-style chain, it serves delicate slivers of creamy shaved ice (bao bing) topped with juicy mango chunks and condensed milk or syrup. Other toppings range from mung beans and strawberries to taro and sweet potato.
Though mango shaved ice is widely available across the city, Ice Monster has become a must-visit for both locals and travellers — queues are common. Their generously sized bowls, called “sensations,” are perfect for sharing and especially refreshing on Taipei’s year-round warm days.
