Fishball Story

Noodle Shop

Located along Circuit Road in MacPherson, The Fishball Story is a beloved street food stall known for its dedication to tradition and quality. In 2016, it earned a coveted Bib Gourmand accolade from the Michelin Guide — a testament to its outstanding value and craftsmanship.

Founder Douglas Ng, a young and passionate hawker, starts his day at 4 am to handcraft fishballs the old-fashioned way — using only pure yellowtail flesh, with no flour added, just as his grandmother did. The result is fishballs that are soft, springy, and deeply umami, alongside chill-scallion fish cakes made from the same meticulous process.

Served with noodles tossed in a punchy sambal chilli dressing and topped with crunchy fried pork lard, the combination is immensely satisfying — especially at just $ 6.50 a bowl. Open daily from 8 am to 6 pm, it remains a shining example of heritage hawker excellence.
