Established in 1939, Ye Lai Xiang Cheng Tng is widely regarded as one of the oldest cheng tng stalls in Singapore. The dessert stall reportedly began by the seaside before relocating to Bedok Corner Food Centre, where it continues to draw loyal regulars. Fun fact: the neighboring space once housed an affiliated cuttlefish kang kong stall, which has since closed.
Welcoming customers with a nostalgic, old-school signboard, the stall proudly reflects its heritage. Cheng tng, a beloved local dessert, is a clear sweet soup served hot or cold. The premium bowl here is generously packed with dried persimmon, dried longan, barley, tapioca, sweet potato, snow fungus, ginkgo nuts, lotus seeds, candied melon strips, and sago pearls. For many, Ye Lai Xiang’s rendition remains a standout favorite in Bedok.
