Ya Kun Kaya Toast

Breakfast

Founded in 1944 by Loi Ah Koon, Ya Kun Kaya Toast has grown from a humble family stall into one of Singapore’s most recognisable café chains, with more than 50 outlets across six countries. Despite its expansion, it remains a cultural icon synonymous with kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs and strong local coffee.

For the full experience, visit the original outlet, where tradition still leads. In its nostalgic setting, members of the Loi family continue to prepare breakfast much as they always have. The toast is sliced exceptionally thin and grilled until cracker-crisp, paired with perfectly soft-boiled eggs ideal for dipping — simple, timeless and distinctly Singaporean.
