Founded in the 1960s by Mr. M. Veerasamy, who hailed from southern India, Samy’s Curry remains a proudly family-run institution. Based at Block 25 Dempsey Road for over five decades, it has become a landmark — a nostalgic escape where heritage and tradition are deeply felt.
From humble beginnings, the restaurant has grown into an award-winning favourite, celebrated for its warm hospitality and bold, spice-laden flavours. Diners flock to its leafy Dempsey setting for signatures such as Masala Chicken, Fish Head Curry, Fish Cutlet and Mysore Mutton, each built on the late founder’s closely guarded spice blends. True to its South Indian roots, meals are served on banana leaves, preserving an authentic, time-honoured dining ritual.
