Noodle Shop
Run by a dedicated husband-and-wife team, Kean Fatt is famed for its pork noodles—and the long queues that come with them. Expect to wait at least half an hour, as each batch is cooked in small portions to maintain quality. The delay only builds anticipation for what many consider one of the best bowls in town.
You can choose from kway teow (silky flat rice noodles), yellow noodles, or vermicelli, with kway teow or vermicelli being popular picks. The broth is thick, hearty, and deeply flavorful, brimming with minced pork, tender slices, crispy lard, pork liver, and intestines. Add a half-boiled egg for extra richness, then mix everything and savor each bite.
If hunger strikes while you wait, order a plate of siu yoke from the neighboring roast meat stall—it’s a worthy prelude to the main event.
