Woodman’s of Essex

Seafood

Woodman’s is a seafood institution located 30 minutes north of Boston on the Essex River. They invented the fried clam roll in 1916 using fresh clams plucked right from their river. The fried platters are a thing of beauty and the whole experience in a sleepy New England fishing village is memorable. The fried clams are very lightly fried and served in a lovely thin roll with fantastic homemade tartar sauce.
