Mala Ocean Tavern is a small Oceanside destination serving locally Hawaiian Regional Cuisine. Chef Mark Ellman is one of the original 12 Super-chefs who "codified the cuisine in 1992. The water is 4 feet away and the sea turtles swimming right by your table will cast you into a Hawaiian dreamscape. The house special whole wok fried fish is essential but leave space for the signature dessert Caramel Miranda: Melted Dark Chocolate and Caramel sauce covered fresh Island fruit with Macadamia Nut Ice Cream. This (along with Mama's) is the best restaurant on Maui.
