This small hipster bar is the place to go for fresh seafood. Oysters take center stage, and the large bar displaying oysters and shellfish is the centerpiece of the space. The oyster selection emphasizes local oysters from 10 parts of the state, in addition to a handful of oysters “from away.” What makes Eventide unique is the long list of gourmet accoutrements, including kimchi ice cream and red wine mignonette, to dress your oysters. As one of the more hip eateries in Portland, Eventide also offers a non-traditional lobster roll using a soft Chinese bao. The lobster is prepared with either brown butter or a ginger scallion dressing and the brown butter works wonderfully with the warm, soft bun. Wash your choices down with a glass of wine. All of the wines on the menu are chosen to compliment the seafood.
