Caesar's Restaurant
Caesar Cardini opened his namesake restaurant in 1927 during the Tijuana boom of prohibition. Cardini, an Italian immigrant, is largely credited with the invention of the famous Caesar salad. The Plascencia family took over the restaurant in 2010 and restored the place to its former glory. The original mahogany bar remains and recalls the city’s golden age. The menu features tapas, steak and seafood selections that pay homage to Tijuana's culinary history. The Plascencia family still serves the iconic salad today. Prepared tableside, the classic recipe features olive oil, garlic, Parmesan cheese, lemon, anchovy, egg, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper and Worcestershire sauce, to taste.
