Cafe Arabica

They say Gaziantep, Turkey, is the world capital of baklava, a sweet traditionally prepared with layers of phyllo filled with pistachios and bathed in honey. Arabica Café presents, especially on weekends, huge trays with some striking Creole baklavas. Jean Paul Coupal, well-known restaurateur and enthusiastic promoter of Venezuelan fruits and vegetables, changed the traditional recipe after returning from Gaziantep. Instead of pistachios, he uses the seeds of a tree in the Venezuelan Amazon known as juvia (Brazil nut). Don´t miss a bite of the magic flavors or the syrup prepared without honey. For lunch or dinner, try the Lionfish with Chips. Venomous lionfish, native to the reefs of the Indo-Pacific Ocean, have found their way to the western Atlantic Ocean, where they are growing in numbers, eating everything and causing severe environmental dangers. Despite the venom they deliver via needle-like dorsal fins, divers are fishing them and cooks in Caracas are discovering their white, firm and gloriously tasty meat. Café Arabica surprises visitors with lionfish mixed with local ají dulce croquettes and small potatoes strung in kebabs. Dip it in the spicy, creamy Peruvian-style huancaína sauce for an over-the-top experience.
