Acapulco is the fabled vacation spot known for its natural beauty and hot nightlife. The costera, which runs along the bay has been exploited and overbuilt and is now lined with chain stores, supermarkets and monstrous municipal constructions. But no avarice can overshadow the warm waters, gentle climate and surrounding unspoiled beaches, such as those at Pie de la Cuesta, 20 minutes north.
