Langer's
This is arguably the best deli sandwich in the world. While the pastrami itself may have the edge at Katz’s New York, the sandwich as a whole here is peerless. Five distinct flavor sensations can be discerned from the sugar-cured pastrami, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, Russian dressing and the superb, twice-baked bread. Note the three textures: softness of the bread, succulent juiciness of the meat and crunch from the coleslaw. Finally, marvel at the three temperatures of warm bread, cold coleslaw and hot pastrami. The city of LA should build a monument to the late, great Al Langer and his family, who keep the flame burning today.
